The Yountville Train Robbery – October 1993
In 1993 Napa Valley Horsemen's Association was asked to be part of the annual Yountville Days. NVHA put together a bunch of desperadoes to stop and rob the strong box on the Napa Wine Train.
Our group dressed up and played their part to the hilt.
Being a wily group of horsemen the NVHA banditos held up
the train as planned and took Vincent De Demenico, chairman of the
operating company, as insurance of a clean getaway.
Unbeknownst to them the Napa Sheriff Posse was waiting for them.
The banditos were paraded through town for all to see. Robbing trains does not pay. But it sure is a lot of fun!!
Some of the ladies show the men that they know how to hold up a train too. A feather boa will stop the train for sure.
